Money, fund raising and IPOs…where does it all end?
We started with a conversation about FWD, the InsurTech arm of Pacific Century Group, and its planned IPO in New York. This would make it the largest Hong Kong or China-based insurance IPO in New York since 2003. This is just indicative of the amount of money that keeps flowing into the insurance innovation sector.
That was only the beginning. The market was also discussing One Concern‘s $45MM raise from SOMPO, Australia’s Honey Insurance raising a $12MM seed round…seed round!, Malaysia’s Oyen raising a mode modest seed round, and Carro raising $360MM from Softbank’s Vision Fund 2. did I hear someone whisper the words WeWork?
During a busy news month for the InsurTech space (Aren’t they all?), we finished with a discussion about the announced partnership between Coherent (You can listen to John Brisco‘s episode here.) and Unqork.
