Michael Waitze worked in Global Finance for more than 20 years, employed by firms like Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, primarily in Tokyo.  Michael lived and worked in Tokyo from February 1990 until December 2011.  Michael always maintained a particular focus on how technology could be used to make businesses more efficient and to drive P/L growth. And we have more news coming out of Hong Kong: YAS MicroInsurance and Amodo announced a partnership to enable autonomous insurance on-chain and Coherent announced the launch of Coherent Spark on Snowflake Marketplace.

We are also seeing more money pouring into InsurTech in Asia. The French private equity group Eurazeo has launched a $215 million fund targeting InsurTech startups in Southeast Asia. In China, AXA Tianping Property & Casualty Insurance, and Akur8, an AI-driven insurance pricing technology company, announced their collaboration to further enhance AXA Tianping’s pricing process with Akur8’s high-performing AI technologies.
