What an amazing year for InsurTech in Asia and globally. Michael and Theresa review for the last time in 2022 the InsurTech news in Asia and make some predictions for 2023.
At the end of 2022, we see more InsurTech accelerators and funds launching. In Malaysia, FWD and Artem Ventures launched a RM45 million fund to invest in emerging Malaysian Insurtech and Islamic Fintech startups. In Singapore, Singlife with Aviva launched Singlife Connect, an accelerator programme to spur the growth of promising insurtech startups.
In Hong Kong, bolttech selected Sapiens for their P&C Core Transformation. A reminder that bolttech grew mostly through acquisition and therefore has a legacy to manage.
Another Hong Kong InsurTech made it into the news. Throughout the years, Yas InsurTech has always been very timely with their product launches. So it’s no surprise that they are launching a new travel insurance offering in time for Hong Kong to relax their Covid restrictions. Happy traveling Hong Kongers!
