Theresa is the founder of the Asia InsurTech Podcast and a Thought Leader on innovation in insurance in Asia. She has worked for ten years for leading multinational insurers in Europe and Asia before turning to management consulting and venture building with the goal of transforming the insurance industry and helping shape its future in the region.

Michael has previously worked for major international organisations including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, UBS and CitiGroup as well as supported and advised local tech giants like aCommerce and investors like Ardent Capital in Thailand. Since 2016, Michael has been running his media business hosting several tech podcasts in Asia.

Rahul is the Startup lead at Accenture’s FinTech Innovation Lab in London. Prior to joining Accenture, he was an Insurance Product Manager at Laka Insurance, a London headquartered early stage InsurTech start-up which recently won at the British Insurance Awards 2019.  Rahul holds a master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Warwick. He is an Ambassador at the Asia InsurTech podcast.

The second half of September was again dominated by news coming out of Mainland China. The CareVoice, one of China’s largest health InsurTech, has launched their own operating system, CareVoiceOS, after closing an eight-figure Series A funding round in August. We already spoke to Sebastien, the co-founder and CEO of The CareVoice, about this announcement in our latest podcast episode

 We continue to see more investments coming out of China. Chinese online InsurTech Duobaoyu raised Series B, led by Yunfeng Capital a VC co-founded by Alibaba’s former chairman Jack Ma. And the rumours of Tencent investing in Indian super FinTech PolicyBazaar.

Apart from China, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has opened applications for its regulatory sandbox from September 15. In Singapore, we have SingLife starting a new chapter by making its unofficial name official and teaming up with US-based VISA to issue debit cards. And Indonesia is in the news as well with another rebranding. Sequis Life has launched Super You by Sequis Online, their new digital insurance brand.
