For a while now, we have been looking for a way to make the AIP News RoundUp more interactive. That’s why we have joined Clubhouse! On Clubhouse we will discuss the latest news with InsurTech peers live and on the podcast we will still publish the summary of the news. Feel free to join us live next time for a deep dive into the news!
The news items we discussed in our latest session were all about IPOs and funding rounds. WeDoctor, a Tencent backed Health/InsurTech is planning its IPO in Hong Kong with a valuation near $7 billion. In India, PolicyBazaar has invited proposals from investment banks and is preparing an IPO with an approximate $3.5 billion valuation. Listen to our episode with co-founder Yashish Dahiya.
In Thailand, AppMan closed a Series A round of over $4.6 million. We had co-founder Amarit Franssen join us live on Clubhouse to share some insights. We also had Tunde Salako from Africa InsurTech Rising live on Clubhouse to talk about Kenyan insurtech Pula and its expansion plans for Asia after raising $6 million in funding.
Join us in mid-March for our next AIP News RoundUp live on Clubhouse. Make sure to follow @theresablissing and @michaelwaitze on Clubhouse to get the updates.
