Michael has previously worked for major international organisations including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, UBS and CitiGroup as well as supported and advised local tech giants like aCommerce and investors like Ardent Capital in Thailand. Since 2016, Michael has been running his media business hosting several tech podcasts in Asia.

In this episode, Michael Waitze spoke with Cleosent Randing, the founder and CEO of PasarPolis. PasarPolis is a tech platform that provides solutions for their partner companies including Go-Jek, Traveloka and Tokopedia. Cleosent studied at the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. His first job was in digital performance before starting PasarPolis because he saw a huge potential market in South East Asia.

Cleosent discusses the democratization of insurance and the large target market he predicts. In Indonesia, only a very small percentage of the population is insured. With PAsarPolis he achieved to insure around 25% of all Go-Jek. Together with his partners, PasarPolis works on building tailor-made, contextual products that are relevant to the client. One of their products is flight insurance that covers costs within a few seconds after a delay.

He touches on PasarPolis’ expansion to Thailand and Vietnam together with his partners to help them deliver the perfect product that their customers need. Looking at the ASEAN region he sees the need for innovative InsurTech companies. For the future he wishes that more companies with usable products emerge.
