In this episode, AIP founder Theresa Blissing recorded at Insurance Innovators Indonesia in Jakarta. She is joined by Hassan Karim from Zurich Indonesia, Dr. Kartina Sury, a senior researcher on digital and marketing as well as Tommy Martin, the co-founder and COO of Qoala on the topic Human vs Machine.
The panel is discussing if machines are taking over insurance jobs and how important the human component is in the age of AI. There’s a 50% chance that artificial intelligence (AI) systems will be able to perform every single task better than their human counterparts in the next 45 years, according to researchers from Oxford and Yale University.
The experts are discussing use-cases of AI in insurance and the availability of data sets in Asia. Data is key to implementing powerful AI solutions that can outperform humans. However, according to the panel, while machines might replace humans in certain tasks, they will more often help humans perform better by giving them greater insights which will allow them to operate more efficiently. As Hassan puts it, AI is not replacing humans, it’s augmenting!
