In this episode Michael Waitze talks to Anuj Jindal, the CEO & co-Founder of SureClaim in India. Anuj has a background as an engineer and worked in HealthTech prior to starting SureClaim. SureClaim is a consumer-centric tech platform designed to help consumers make the best use of their health insurance through intelligent decisions and smarter claims.

SureClaim is a classic example of two people wanting to solve an issue they have experienced themselves. Anuj explains how in India people often do not understand what their health insurance policy covers due to a lack of transparency. Furthermore, filing a claim is highly complex and not very customer-centric. Based on their personal experiences, he and his co-Founder Varun Kansal started SureClaim.

Anuj gives insight into their journey from personal experience to the current business model of SureClaim. Both he and his co-Founder had previous experience working in HealthTech startups which helped them define their problem statement and develop a product prototype despite their lack of insurance knowledge. After a year of research, they were able to raise a venture round in January 2019.
