Aurora Voss is the Co-Founder & CEO of ClaimSpace, a platform helping the insurance industry to improve how it communicates with customers and external stakeholders. Prior to joining ClaimSpace she ran H2 Ventures, Australia's earliest stage, fintech and AI-focused venture capital firm. Originally from South Africa, Aurora is passionate about getting the best technology into the hands of those who need it most: customers and customer-facing staff.

In this episode, Michael Waitze talks to Aurora Voss, the co-Founder, and CEO of ClaimSpace. The startup was founded in Australia in 2017 and Aurora gives some insights into the Australian InsurTech landscape and how insurers are responding to the current global pandemic. Like in other parts of the world, insurers in Australia are accelerating their digital transformation in response to COVID. But not only the virus is forcing the industry to change, Aurora talks about significant regulatory changes that have redefined claims management in the land Downunder.

Aurora came across ClaimsSpace when she was working with Australian VC H2 Ventures. While she never had planned to work in insurance, coming from a customer point of view and having worked with large industries as well as a VC in the past, Aurora saw a lot of potential. And together with the two other co-founders Gilberto Spencer and Alfonso Marquez Vidal it turned out to be a perfect match. ClaimSpace took part in the Hartford InsurTech Hub as well as Plug and Play San Francisco and Aurora shares her experience and key takeaways from these popular accelerator programs.

Michael and Aurora talk about the importance of customer engagement. Will customers ever be in love with insurance? And do they need to be in the first place? Aurora believes what really matters is that insurers keep their promise and make the claims process transparent and easy to understand.
